Fatima Memorial Hospital

Fatima Memorial Hospital is a not for profit hospital situated in the heart of Lahore. It was established in 1977 as a 200 bed community hospital for women and children. Fatima Memorial Hospital’s vision on its inception was the betterment of the standard of maternal and child healthcare in Pakistan. Over the years it has evolved into a 510 bed, multi-specialty, and tertiary care teaching hospital offering state of the art, clinical & diagnostic services through experts in various fields to patients from all walks of life.

FMH College of Medicine &  Dentistry:

FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry started in the dawn of new millennium in the year 2000 and is a key component of Fatima Memorial System. It is fully recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council & afliated with University of Health Sciences. We may not be able to boast a long history but our performance so far does portray a bright future.

FMH Institute of Allied Health   Sciences:

An independent Institute of Allied Health Sciences has been established with the sole aim of developing professionals who would be an integral part of the medical team along with Doctors and Nurses. The college offers graduate programmes in, Medical Imaging Technology, Audiology, Optometry, Dental Hygiene & Dental Technology.

Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing:

Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing is one of the leading nursing institutions in Pakistan and is recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council and afliated with the University of Health Sciences for Degree programmes, Nursing Examination Boards for Diploma programmes and Post Graduate College of Nursing for Post Basic Diploma programmes.

FMH Center for Post Graduate Training:

FMH Center for Postgraduate Training established in 1995 is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan to impart postgraduate training in 17 disciplines of Medicine & Dentistry.

NUR Center for Research and Policy

NUR Center for Research and Policy (NCRP) is a component of NUR Foundation (NF), board-governed institution committed to meeting the continuing educational needs of healthcare professionals and meets the challenges for improving public health through evidence based decision making generated through research, training and policy consulting services.

Student Research Forum by NCRP (est. 2015)

The aim of this forum is to encourage the students, to initiate a process for developing research capacity followed by conducting it in order contribute important knowledge to the health community on a local, regional and global scale. For the students at NIU, pursuing a research project will be a challenging and rewarding experience. This opportunity will enable them to pursue an in-depth original study about a topic of interest and allow them to address arising health issues such as dengue through validated research based evidence. This forum will hence serve as a mean to promote research culture in NUR International University, NUR Foundation and Fatima Memorial System.

NUR Student Leadership Program

The NUR Student Leadership Program is a part of the visionary and goal oriented approach of NUR Foundation and Fatima Memorial System towards integrated community development. The program has evolved from the FMH Student Internship Program which was launched in 1995. The program enrolls secondary, undergraduate and graduate students across Pakistan. The students at NIU will get the opportunity to work through the different internships offered during the summer break along with various workshops on leadership, personality building, communication and many international conferences. These opportunities will enrich their practical experience along with academics.

NUR Community Outreach Program

It was established in 1985 and focuses on the following key components, like Education; Healthcare; Vocational Training; Disaster Relief; and Food Banks. NCOP works in close collaboration with its community members and uses developed techniques of social mobilization to involve communities in designing, launching and implementing an intervention. NCOP has been actively working in the fields of healthcare, education, income generation through micro-finance, vocational training programs, nutrition and disaster management.


The NUR International University (NIU) is envisaged to develop a system of education that embodies the values and concepts that define the vision of a strong culture and ethics blended with the best educational practices developed in the modern world. NIU is to be run on a not-for-profit basis and is committed to offering equal opportunity to individuals from all walks of life based on merit and need. It is a platform for learning, training, research, building knowledge and introducing new methods to meet challenges faced by humanity today. Our aim is to nurture our students through their intellectual and cultural experiences to enable them to fully express themselves and excel in their respective professions. Students will have the opportunities to participate in collaborative research projects, benefit from one-on-one academic advising and tutoring and engage with classmates coming from various backgrounds


NUR Foundation was established by Mrs. Shahima Rehman in 2007 from a personal endowment with a vision to nurture human development for promoting professional excellence in policy and practice. Mrs. Rehman is a development professional who joined Fatima Memorial Hospital in 1984 which was set-up by her mother, Begum Saida Waheed in 1977. She was appointed Chairperson, Executive Committee – Fatima Memorial System in 1992. She established the Community Outreach Program in 1984 & Student Leadership Program in 1995 which are now under the umbrella of NUR Foundation. FMH Centre for Post-Graduate Studies was established in 1995 and FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry was launched in the year 2000. That was followed by establishment of FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing in 2006 and 2007 respectively. The institutes of Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health, Nursing and Post Graduate Training are now part of the School of Health Sciences – Fatima Memorial System.

Today, NUR Foundation incorporates the NUR Centre for Research & Policy established in 2008, NUR Community Outreach Program, NUR Student Leadership Program, NUR International University chartered by the Government of Punjab and recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and NUR Intermediate College established in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Fatima Memorial System and NUR Foundation have emerged as a not-for-prot social development institution under the able leadership of Mrs. Shahima Rehman which encompasses healthcare, education and economic empowerment employing over 2000 personnel and changing the lives of countless Pakistanis.
