BS FINANCE and INFORMATION SCIENCES

This program is concerned with imparting knowledge on financial theory, risk management, working of financial markets and integration of financial information into IT system. The accumulation of financial data into IT system is intended to help efficient tracking of financial events, information management and policy decisions. The first four semesters covers elementary courses on finance, quantitative methods and mandatory general courses. The final four semesters cover courses like designing the digital economy; promoting non-profit organizations; financial derivatives; games in business; financial statement analysis; managing financial institutions; cyber technology & society; the supply chain & logistics; public finance & development; financial markets; the economics of hedge banks; managing information system; forecasting methods & applications; strategy & information; and international finance etc.  At the end of the degree students are expected to have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments and working of financial markets.
  • Command on mathematical and statistical tools essential for modelling and analyze financial data.
  • Understanding of IT empowered utilities such as relevant software for analyzing and making predictions using financial data
